The tail race water of Yamuna Hydel Scheme Stage-I drops in river Asan, which joins river Yamuna slightly downstream of the point of junction of the tail race channel. Another barrage has been constructed across river Asan downstream of the tail race channel divert the water available from Yamuna state-I, and to utilize additional supplies from river Asan into another 4 km long lined power channel of 198.2 cumecs capacity. A power house of 30 MW. installed capacity has been constructed at the end of this power channel near village Kulhal opposite famous Ponta Saheb Shrine of the Sikhs, to utilize 18 metre drop available in river Yamuna between the Asan barrage site and upto Ponta Sahib.
