Handles two types of investigations, increasing the yield of a well by proper design of gravel packs and calibration of V-notch for measurement of water supplied from tube-wells. The V-notch calibration study was necessitated because the steel edges of V-notch get rusted with time and need calibration. The guide lines for the design and construction of gravel packed wells suggested by the Institute were accepted by the Central Board of Irrigation and Power and were later published as a C.B.I. & P. memorandum.
