90 meters high Dam is proposed over Alakhnanda river. The collected water will pass through 13-meter diameter and 0.9 kms length of tunnel and by 3 kms lengthy river to the powerhouse. The capacity of powerhouse is 330 (5*66) Mega Watt. On completion of the project 1302 mu power will be available per year.
The approximate cost of the project will be Rs. 1052.0 crores, out of which Rs. 80.17 crores have been spent. This project has been transferred to private enterprise m/s Duncun Industries. This company has asked for 5 years to complete the project but has not started it yet.
