It is a run of the river scheme. A barrage located 125 km. upstream of Kalsi near village Tiuni would divert 78 cumecs water in head race tunnel to utilize a drop of 95 m available in river tones between Tiuni and Plasu.
Catchment area is 3320 sq.km. Water shall be diverted through 8.5 km long tunnel of 5.0 dia to a surface power house of 72 MW. installed capacity. Power generation on 90% availability shall be 250 x 106 KWH.
